AAC member Houghton International Inc. patents a new technology under the title: “Methods and Compositions for Acid Treatment of a Metal Surface.” Filed on October 17, 2017 at the U.S. Patent Office under the U.S. Patent No. 9,732,428, the patent protects Houghton’s Acid Etch technology which “significantly reduces etch time, reduces waste sludge by over 50% and is performed at lower temperatures,” as stated in Houghton International’s press release regarding the patent.
