MacDermid to Support Fiat Chrysler’s Chromium-plated Plastics

MacDermid Enthone Industrial Solutions received approval for its TriMac Eclipse process to meet Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) specification PS.50045 mastering code CM606.

TriMac Eclipse is an trivalent chromium-plating process that is used to deposit a dark decorative chromium layer over bright or satin nickel deposits. For automotive applications, the process is tolerant to attack from calcium chloride-containing salts.

“FCA joins the growing list of global automotive manufacturers, such as Toyota and Honda, in approving trivalent chromium-plating processes to satisfy their need for sustainable surface finishing processes,” says Terry Clarke, director of product marketing at MacDermid Enthone.
