OBITUARY – Charles David Roach

From the Sanford Herald, August 17, 2015:

Charles David “Dave” Roach has passed away at the age of 71.

Dave was born in 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia to James and Nellie Jo Roach. He attended The Air Force Academy where his dreams were to become a United States Air Force Fighter Pilot. He moved to Altamonte Springs, FL in 1972 where he spent the rest of his life. He was a metal finisher and the Business Owner of Peninsula Metal Finishing and a worldwide exporter of filtration equipment with Flo King International. Dave was well known in both industries. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing and painting with his grandchildren (yes he was an artist). He also liked hunting deer, turkey, and hogs with his son-in-law John, his brother, and close friends. He had a passion for flying airplanes and at the age of 40, he received his private pilot’s license. Dave had a wonderful sense of humor and loved spending time travelling and seeking adventure. Those that knew him well will miss him greatly. Dave loved his hunting dogs Teensey and Tessa because he was an animal lover.

The family is asking, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Dave’s name to the animal rescue group, Florida Boxer Rescue

Gramkow Funeral Home & Crematory, Sanford, is in charge of all arrangements.

NOTE:  The family held a private service on Saturday, August 15, 2015.  FFC would like to express our condolences to all of Dave’s friends and family.
