PCI Awards 2017-2018 Scholarships

The Powder Coating Institute (PCI) recently awarded its 2017-18 scholarships to worthy students who are pursuing studies in powder coating technology.  The deserving recipients represent the future of our industry and PCI is pleased to support their goals.  These scholarships are awarded annually to deserving students who have applied. The criteria for the awards include: relevance to powder coating technology, comprehensiveness of the university program, future goals, unique qualifications, and a letter of recommendation from their adviser.

PCI administers the Scholarship Program promotes and solicits scholarship applications from students and educational institutions.  PCI received many qualified applicants and is excited to watch the research and development of the projects generated by these exceptional students.  The scholarship fund continues to grow and attract bright new talent to the powder coating industry, which includes students pursuing degrees in polymer science, manufacturing and engineering.  The growth of the scholarship program enhances the potential of young scholars in the industry and PCI is proud to be a part of it.

The PCI 2017-18 Scholarship Program awarded $20,000 in total, which includes corporate donations of $5,000 each from Axalta and Nordson Corporation.  PCI’s Executive Director, Trena Benson shares, “PCI is very proud to partner with corporate members to offer these scholarships.  As the premier industry association, whose mission is the promotion of powder coating technology, these PCI scholarships represent a great opportunity to support the goals of students who have interests in our industry and could help us to advance our technology.”
